I wanted to send all of our followers a quick email with some information about 2 of our most sought after treatments for reversing moderate to severe sun damage: TCA Chemical Peel and CO2 Laser Resurfacing.

The skin is very important to me when it comes to designing a comprehensive facial rejuvenation plan along with any surgical procedure I recommend for long-lasting, more cost-effective results.

TCA Chemical Peels

15 minutes in office-treatment
No numbing required
No swelling
5-7 days of peeling
Great for: tone, texture, and fine lines
If more severe damage, then series of 3 peels is recommended with a 4 week interval

CO 2 Laser
The gold standard for skin resurfacing
30-60 min in-office procedure
Great for: tone, texture, scaring, tightening, and deeper edged lines also for even tone, texture
More downtime than TCA chemical peel, usually 10-14 days
You can swell in addition to having some noticeable peeling
Skin prep for 2-4 weeks prior
Usually done once a year
May have a light redness persistent for a few weeks after
