The first Ornge helicopter landed on Sunnybrook's new rooftop helipad on January 16, 2020, as part of a test run.

With this new helipad, critically ill & severely injured patients — who arrive from all over Ontario — will gain valuable minutes in getting to life-saving care.

The Honourable Christine Elliott, Ontario Minister of Health, and Robin Martin, MPP for Eglinton Lawrence and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health, joined us for the inaugural landing, and they also observed a simulation in our trauma bay.

Each year, more than 2,000 critically injured patients are rushed or flown to Sunnybrook.
