3D Animation: How a Beretta M9 / 92 Pistol Works

The Beretta M9 (officially the "Pistol, Semiautomatic, 9mm, M9") is the designation for the Beretta 92F semi-automatic pistol used by the United States Armed Forces. The M9 was adopted by the United States military as their service pistol in 1985. It won a competition to replace the M1911A1 as the primary sidearm of the U.S. military. It officially entered service in 1990. The Beretta M9/92 features a open slide design similiar to the Walther P38. It is designed and manufactured by italian gun manufacturer Beretta. In 2017 the United States Army announced that a customized version of the SIG Sauer P320 will replace the M9. The full-sized model is known as M17.
