John McAvoy (General practitioner (GP) from Sheffield, South Yorkshire) versus Lavern Ritch (Swimming instructor from Cardiff, Wales)

Notes: Atlaspheres appears for the first time in seven shows in an event line-up for its first appearance.

Whilst Whiplash is played as a split event for the men, Sumo Ball is played as a split event for the women for the first time since the fifth series, 1996 where they never played it in the previous series, 1997 because the men played it three times in three shows as a split event.

Hang-Tough is not in the seventh heat which is supposed to be in the seventh heat for its fourth appearance to be played in four heats in an event line-up to take place in four of the heats.
