What's it like to change your name after you've lived with it for over 20 years? #AlayaF, the confident young debutant who starred as Saif Ali Khan's daughter in last week's #JawaaniJaaneman, was born Alia Furniturewala, but rechristened herself to avoid confusion with the other Alia in Bollywood. The bright young artiste who happens to be the daughter of Pooja Bedi, spoke to CNN-News18’s #RajeevMasand about how she grew up NOT wanting to be in the movies but became seduced by it anyway. She explains why she was determined to find her own way in the business and not lean on her family for recommendations. She was articulate and thoughtful, and if her confidence and comfort in front of the camera is any indication, looks like she might be around for a while.
