Petrie, this pigeon I rescued back in June, has a boyfriend. She comes back every day, sometimes she comes in through the window but now they go to the bird table which is cool :) She had a very damaged eye where she had been attacked... the whole lower lid was pushed up and there was a massive cut underneath. It took a while to heal and she learned to fly with the sight of just one eye but it's healed so well and she looks great... she'd lost a lot of her feathers and was in bad shock... she should still have been in the nest and didn't know how to eat but wouldn't let me feed her so I mixed up a gruel with crushed seeds and wheat biscuits and warm water and she'd slurp it up... when she started to eat properly I knew she'd live and just hoped she could fly so when she did it was a huge relief. I didn't make any effort to tame her at all as I wanted to release her so it's a bonus that she comes back!
