Описание к видео ACAS /TCAS Training

The video is part of the infoWERK's ACAS/TCAS Training e-learning course. The training presents the Airborne Collision Avoidance System II (ACAS II) and Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).
In the course, the students are provided with in-depth insights into the functionalities and operation of ACAS II and TCAS, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to mitigate potential risks effectively.
The ACAS Flight Crew Training Program covers the theory of operations, System operation including Surveillance function, Collision avoidance, Advisory thresholds, ACAS limitations and ACAS inhibits, Operating procedures including Use of controls, Display interpretation, differences between Version 7.0 and 7.1, Operation on the ground and Operating modes.

The present video presents a case study, where two aircraft with the same destination (Boeing 757 and Airbus 321), flying one above the other, descend at the same time. From this case study students learn that in some situations, mainly due to high vertical rates, traffic advisories will not precede resolution advisories for one or both aircraft in the conflict pair. In addition resolution advisories can change in Rapid succession due to high vertical rates.
