When it comes to food, winter is all about soups and stews. I think many would agree. And for me, soups in particular are what I need when I feel a cold coming on. Something spicy always does the trick of clearing out my sinuses. And that's where my take on ramen noodle soup comes in. 🍜

Everyone has eaten ramen noodle soup at least once if not countless times, especially if you were a college kid on a budget! 🙋🏻 But once I learned about MSG in those flavor packets, I was over eating ramen--at least for a short while. Then I decided to put my personalized spin on ramen.

Inspired by all the amazing Japanese ramen and Korean ramyun I had while attending college in New York City restaurants, I came up with this spicy miso ramen noodle soup based on my favorite components and garnishes. I tried to focus on ingredients that aren't that difficult to find in a local Asian foods store or the international aisle of your local supermarket. Miso paste, kimchi, sriracha, and even wakame seaweed are actually quite easy to procure!

Whether you're under the weather and need a soup to help you feel warm all over, or maybe you're a bit hungover after an entire night of partying and you need some sustenance, you will definitely appreciate this spicy miso ramen noodle soup. Some protein in the form of a chicken breast and boiled egg, and carbs in the form of noodles, will have you restored to your optimal self in no time.
