The TDI has a great feature, very useful when asked to remain outside controlled airspace. You can simply tell the autopilot to "hold at waypoint" e.g. a reporting point, or "hold at current position". It will then enter a perfect hold, adjust for wind and allow you to keep an eye out for other traffic, or as in this case, enjoy the view.
