On November 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald - once hailed as “Queen of the Great Lakes” -vanished beneath the storm-torn waters of Lake Superior with all 29 crewmen aboard.
Fifty years later, we return to the sites connected to her story - from the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, to Sault Ste. Marie, Detroit, and the Burlington Northern Dock #1 in Superior, Wisconsin - to uncover how one of the most advanced freighters of her time simply disappeared.

We retrace the Fitzgerald’s final voyage, meet historians and eyewitnesses like Frederick Stonehouse and Jerry Tessendorf, and explore the powerful storms that make the inland seas behave like oceans. Through recovered artifacts, preserved lifeboats, and the tolling of her recovered bell, we honor the men who were lost - and the legacy that endures.

We've put together a highly detailed digital recreation of the Edmund Fitzgerald with realistic physics and flexing mechanics added to the hull, and brought to life in Unreal Engine 5.
