RAM 2500 Power Wagon Pulling Bus out of Snow | 4WD Lock System Explained

Описание к видео RAM 2500 Power Wagon Pulling Bus out of Snow | 4WD Lock System Explained

Today I try and pull a heavy bus out of snow with my 2022 RAM 2500 Power Wagon in 4WD LOCK. I explained how this RAM trucks 4wd system works and I explain the difference between an open differential, a Limited Slip differential and a Locking differential. I almost snapped an axle with the truck fully locked up!

So I figured I would try and have some fun with beautiful RAM 2500 power wagon and see if I could pull out this snow frozen bus. but the actual idea for the video was to show you guys how this awesome trucks 4wd system works and how to lock up everything go get the best off road performance.

so first off I put the truck in 2wd and just spun the rear wheels. there is a limited slip in the rear so both wheels spun nicely. then I put one wheel on a traction board or a maxxtrac board and showed how a LSD is not perfect, one wheel spun freely until there was enough torque transfer to spin the other wheel and throw the traction board. Next I locked the rear differential and showed how both wheel spin no matter what happens and that was pretty clear!

next I put the truck in 4wd lock, therefore locking up the transfer case and showed how the open diff in the front would only spin one wheel. then I locked the front differential. this makes all 4 wheels mechanically locked to each other meaning that they all have to spin together no matter what. and that is exactly what we saw. the driveline was binding up and finally when there was enough torque to pop the traction board out from the front wheels all 4 wheels spun.

I drove the truck over the pit to hopefully give you guys a full explanation of what just happened.

I pretty much knew this bus was not going to move and it was going to be a good anchor point but it would of been cool to see it move anyways!

hope you guys liked the video!
