Extracting text from a PDF can be challenging, particularly when the file was created from an image or a scanned document. Luckily PDF Pro comes equipped with the necessary tools to extract text from virtually any PDF, regardless of how it was created.

To extract text from a PDF that originated from an image or scanned document, you will need to have PDF Pro + OCR.

Open your PDF in PDF Pro + OCR and press the OCR tab. Then press Current file.

Specify the pages from which you would like to extract text, and ensure you have the Recognition mode set to Searchable text.

Press run and wait for the OCR tool to finish running. You will now be able to extract text from your PDF.
