Delidding process preformed on a Intel i9-9960X Skylake processor

Описание к видео Delidding process preformed on a Intel i9-9960X Skylake processor

This video shows the process took in delidding the Intel i9-9960 processor in preparation for for direct-die cooling. This process should not be conducted by inexperienced users considering the possible damaged and consequences involved. Likewise, this video is not intended as a tutorial, instead, it is used for demonstration purposes only.

The purpose of delidding a processor for direct-die cooling is to obtain additional cooling to the processor by removing elements that would add unneeded layers that contribute to achieving cooler temperatures including removing the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader (AKA Lid)) that would normally trap the heat. This process is normally used in extreme OCing (Overclocking) environments where processor temperatures are elevated.

The TIM being used in this application will be that of liquid metal, specifically Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut between the die itself and the cooler that I will upload in another video.

If you require the delidding of a processor or direct-die cooling, please consult with a professional who has had many hours doing this process and make sure they know what they are talking about before committing, else this will be a costly mistake.

Enjoy!
