Uloborus is a spider genus in the family Uloboridae with 72 described species. The chelicerae of these cribellate spiders are robust, but, as all Uloboridae, there are no venom glands. Their lack of venom glands is a secondarily evolved trait. Instead, they wrap their prey thoroughly in silk, cover it in regurgitated digestive enzymes, and then ingest the liquified body. It is thought that robust hairs protect the spider from the digestive fluids.They spin sticky capture silk instead of woolly silk.

They are usually dull in color, and are able to camouflage well into their surroundings. Pattern and colouration is quite variable. They are well-camouflaged as they hang upside down motionlessly in their horizontal webs. This spider is an expert in camouflage and very much resembles a bit of dead bark or other piece of detritus as it dangles from its web.The web often looks bedraggled with broken strands and the whole effect is of an ancient, abandoned cobweb with a scrap of dead plant material adhering to it. 
Female feather-legged spiders compete for possession of webs and communicate their intentions through thread pulling and shaking the occupied web.
