sooo...hi!
it's still october 30 somewhere, right? because - totally without looking for a song for weeks and then going into a totally different direction after all - this video fits today's prompt 'alive' on elle's OCtober list.
i'm considering writing this project for this year's nano so i wanted to make a lil video with it - it's been a while since my last one and there have been pretty significant changes, including finding a cast for the main character. (sorry that the voiceovers are in german. sometimes you gotta compromise.)

›› story & characters (kinda): [takes place ca. 15 years before the empire of bones stuff, and geographically in a place you don't really know yet]

the smell of blood, it is everywhere. it lies in the wind and the morning air, carried by the clang of steel and cries of the dying, from the warring clans to the rivers of the bear hunters. it clings to the mountainsides and seeps into the stone.
the winter wood. the wolf hills. the witch mountains. this land has many names, all after something that has killed, and killed it has many.
no one dares cross it without the mark of a witch upon their face, and even with it, only the desperate and the wild.
and the dead.

› the dead woman (jeanne goursaud):
she finds herself in chains after her crew is slaughtered or captured in an attack, and follows her legendary warrior lady (ragga ragnars) into a slow and gruesome death. their captors leave them behind, taking some of her sisters-in-arms as prisoners and slaves.
she is mistakenly brought back from the dead by a group of misfit cut-throats and mercenaries, trying to resurrect her lady and win a gold ransom from her tribe. they believe a legend in their midst, and she tries to use her new half-life to lure them towards the rescue of her sisters – for she doesn't know how long she has.

› the murderer:

...mahesh jadu as one of the unofficial leaders of the mercenaries, hiding from a dangerous past nipping at his heels.
...rory mccann as a fearsome warrior with a gruff tone and gentle hands, way too superstitious to be running with dead people.
...mackenzie crook (only heard) as a warrior priest with questionable alliances and even more questionable prophecies.
