The Cultural Association of Alagonia has taken a number of measures to benefit the environment. They have swap shop, celebrations are only held with reusable dishes and the village also organises many workshops for young people to teach them more about sustainable farming methods.
In general, the community is very involved in permaculture and natural farming.

The Green Greece Series seeks to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable travel.
