Carlsen Field resident attacked by three armed men demanding safe — flee after air horn sounds.

A Carlsen Field man was assaulted by three armed men during a daring early-morning robbery attempt at his home.

Around 5:45 a.m., on Monday August 18th, the victim was tending to animals inside his poultry pen when he was confronted by three suspects – one armed with a firearm and two with cutlasses. The men announced a hold-up and demanded access to a safe.

They bound the victim’s hands and feet, then ordered him to retrieve cash from his house. He handed over $400, but as he attempted to raise an alarm and escape, one of the suspects struck him several times across the back with the flat side of a cutlass, causing injuries.

The commotion drew the attention of a neighbor, who sounded an air horn, prompting the attackers to flee on foot into nearby bushes.

Police responded, interviewed persons at the scene, and took statements. Despite checks in the area, the suspects remain at large. Investigations are continuing.— Story by Ian Alleyne Network
