Leakin Park is a giant park on the west side of Baltimore City. a mysterious, and to some, an infamous place, but it’s undeniably beautiful…

The process of filming this episode spanned about 3 or 4 weeks through late July and early August 2022. In this period we made 4 different trips to Leakin Park, filming and gathering interviews for this episode. The details of each trip and how they shaped this video will be explained, but with each trip our focus grew increasingly to an area in the northwest section of the park where a pavilion known as shelter is located.

After our interview with Cheese for episode 6 in season 1, four of us, including Cheese, Corwyn, our audio composer Harrison and I, hiked through the park. In a rural section of the park down the hill from where shelter is located, while trying to cut through the woods to another trail, we found a large hole dug out of the ground, potentially a prepared body dump site.

On the second trip, after filming several other areas of the park, Corwyn and I went to record footage of the area surrounding Shelter, and to check the hole we’d found in the previous trip and alert authorities if it had been filled. We never made it to check the hole, as after getting just a few shots of the Shelter pavilion a man's scream was captured coming from farther down the hill.

The third trip was largely uneventful. Corwyn and I gathered footage around Winans Meadow and recorded the interview with Ellen. We did not return to Shelter on that trip. On the fourth trip I went back to the area around Shelter with Mika, one of our cameramen, to record footage we had planned to get in trip 2 and check the hole that was found in trip 1. We found that as of late August 2022 the hole has not been filled, but it has not been checked since that date…
