So we went out to Beaver Dunes, located in Northwestern Oklahoma near the panhandle. There ain't nothing out here, fields, cows, farms, lots of abandoned houses. It's little bit depressing. But we also got sand dunes. Now as the history, or should I say legends go, Francisco Coronado encountered some strange things that himself called, the work of the devil.

The native American living here called the place Shaman's portal. People were known to have disappeared there. They warned Coronado about this, but the he didn't listen, and his men were bushwacked by these aliens or whatever. Three of his men disappeared in a bolt of lighting that I believe was said to have been green.

In more recent times, the 90s I believe, a Dr Mark Thatcher spent several years studying the geology of this region finding all kinds of anomalies that included ionization of the ground and electromagnetic interference. And some kind of Men in Black kind of guys apparently shut his work down.

Now I've done a little bit of research and I'm not even sure if this Mr Dr Mark Thatcher guy exists, but we went out to the dunes to find out if there was anything to this story. We brought some of our own equipment to see if we could find any evidence of the anomalies that he found. Maybe there is some sort of crashed flying saucer or hidden cave with an interdimensional portal hidden in the sand.


We ended up not finding much. Our EMF detector was set on RF so it could have been any sort of radio waves we were picking up there. Nothing spectacular on the night vision or the heat vision. The most interesting thing we saw on the trip was actually on the way back. Saw a guy just sitting on the side of the road, a very remote country road, probably 10 miles from the nearest town. It was night and he was sitting there with a lantern. Reminded me of some kind of lantern ghost out of Scooby Doo.

Despite not finding anything to verify the truth of these legends, we have another location kind of west of Beaver dunes. The geology is a bit different. We'd be more likely to find some caves further west. The area is some kind of wildlife management area too.
