Today I farmed rice barefoot, cooked an entire Balinese meal from scratch, and made friends with a cow. Just a normal Wednesday in Bali, right?

It’s Day 4 of our Bali girls trip and things got real real. We left the comfort of our hotel this morning for a full-on immersive experience at Rumah Desa, where we stepped into the everyday life of a Balinese farmer. I’m talking rice paddies, dirt under the nails, giant cooking flames, and one curious cow who really vibed with me.

After farming, we headed into a traditional Balinese cooking class using ingredients we literally pulled from the ground. I learned how to grind spices by hand (arm day, for real), how to cook over open fire, and how to make a full meal without DoorDash. Honestly? I crushed it. Kind of.

We wrapped up our farm-to-table moment with a beautiful lunch, then transferred down to Canggu, Bali’s trendiest beach town, to check into our next hotel. From muddy fields to poolside glam — the duality is real.
