What is Overlanding?
◦ The term "overlanding" was first used in Australia in the early 19th century, describing the practice of driving livestock (typically sheep and cattle) across vast distances to markets or new grazing lands.
◦ Overlanding was essential to Australia's agricultural expansion, especially as settlers moved into the interior of the continent. The need to transport livestock from remote stations (ranches) to urban markets or ports created the profession of the "overlander."
