but having looked through the spec updates, this feels like more than just a colour refresh.

They’re not calling it this — but honestly, it feels fair to call this the ST Modern Plus Gen 2.

This guitar has already been my go-to example of insane value for money, and with the spec tweaks alongside the new finishes, it looks like the best value electric guitar in the world just got even better.

This isn’t a full review or hands-on demo — just a quick reaction to what’s actually changed, what matters, and whether these updates genuinely move the needle.

For context: I’ve owned an ST Modern Plus in the past and made several videos on it. While it wasn’t a long-term keeper for me personally (neck profile things), I still think it’s one of the strongest value propositions in electric guitars right now.
