In this video, you will see me play Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown (Updated Full Release Demo). The Demo for the Full Release got updated to include new combat systems and partial voice acting for Tom Paris and Tuvok, reading their personal log entries. The Developer also got the theme music from the show to be played in the Main Menu screen. Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown is a roguelike story-driven space survival exploration strategy game based on the Star Trek Voyager universe. Across the Unknown shares similar game mechanics with games like Star Control 2, IXION, Stardeus, Shortest Trip to Earth, Mind Over Magic, Frostpunk 2, The Crust, Space Haven, Beyond These Stars, Stellaris, The Last Starship, Oxygen Not Included, FTL: Faster Than Light, RimWorld Odyssey, and Starminer. The Base Building (Ship Room Constructions) mechanics is very similar to how you build your base in XCOM: Enemy Unknown (by Firaxis Games), The Alters (by 11 Bits Studios, same developer of Frostpunk), Mr Prepper, Fallout Shelter, and Goblin Stone. You'll need to scan the system in each sector looking for resources to gather, to keep up with the food supplies and fuel. Morale needs to be maintained in order to survive. When your morale runs out the game is over. You'll be able to research new technologies to Upgrade and Improve your ship. Time Passes in cycles (Turn Based Strategy), you can either Pass a Cycle (Ship Stationary) or move around the system from one location to another (Consuming Fuel). I'm very excited about this Survival Rogue-like mechanics aspects with the space exploration, colony sim crew management, away team missions, and ship combats. This updated demo covers the first mission story and early experience of the Full Game releasing Feb 18th. I really enjoyed this demo and highly recommend checking it out. Wishlist this game!
