There are some songs which are able to give a gentle tug on the heartstrings and, for me, this one really hit the spot! The church hall fell quiet as The Songsters presented this lovely song during the morning service on 30 June 2024 under the guidance of Songster Leader, Kevin Gray.
It's a great comfort to know that someone who cares is praying for us, especially during those difficult times when there's no end in sight. It's our prayer this little video clip may also provide some encouragement to you as you listen and, don't forget, The Salvation Army, Felixstowe is open most days and we'd love to welcome you to our weekly worship service, 10.30am each Sunday.
SOMEBODY PRAYED FOR ME
Words: Claire Cloninger
Music: Robert Sterling
Arrangement: Dean Jones
When my heart was so broken that I could not pray,
When love wasn’t easy to see,
Someone was there, somebody cared,
Somebody prayed for me.
Chorus
Somebody went to the throne of Heaven.
Somebody lifted my name,
Bringing me into his holy presence,
Saying what I could not say.
Somebody showed me the face of his mercy
When darkness was all I could see,
Somebody pleaded the blood of Jesus,
Somebody prayed for me.
When the future looked hopeless and I’d given up,
When I had lost sight of my dreams,
Somebody near dried every tear,
Somebody prayed for me.
Chorus
Somebody went to the throne of Heaven,
Somebody lifted my name.
Bringing me into His holy presence,
Saying what I could not say.
Somebody showed me the face of His mercy,
When darkness was all I could see.
Somebody pleaded the blood of Jesus,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed for me,
Somebody Prayed for me.
