#37 Walking the Malvern Hills - The walk that inspired J.R.R. Tolkien! [Cinematic Hiking Vlog]

Описание к видео #37 Walking the Malvern Hills - The walk that inspired J.R.R. Tolkien! [Cinematic Hiking Vlog]

The Malvern Hills are famous for their spring water and incredible views. In this cinematic hiking vlog we start the walking route in Great Malvern, walk through dense forest in the Green Valley then ascend around and over North Hill. We then head towards the highest point, Worcestershire Beacon (425m) for sunset then head back. This hike was ranked 37th on ITV's Britain's 100 Favourite Walks.

J.R.R. Tolkien would walk the Malvern Hills with his former student (and later biographer) George Sayer, comparing sections of the Hills to the White Mountains of Gondor. In fact, Tolkien would record extracts of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings at George Sayer's house in Malvern.

Where should we go next? Let us know in the comments!
