FRANK ARJAVA PETTER: JIKIDEN REIKI 9/5/2024

A wonderful interview with Frank Arjava Petter, a Reiki historian who has contributed greatly to what we know about Reiki in the West. Arjava lived in Japan for 12 years and talks about the spiritual aspects of Reiki which are different to our western style of hands-on healing.

Arjava first studied the western style of Reiki and began teaching it back to the Japanese, when he found in-congruencies in the teachings, so began to study its origins and history. He then studied Reiki under Mrs Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tado.

In 1938, Chiyoko Yamaguchi learned "Usui Reiki Ryoho" from Chujiro Hayashi. For 65 years, she practice Reiki on a daily basis with her relatives, friends and people in her community. After realizing that the original form of Reiki would be lost if it was not preserved, she established the "Jikiden Reiki Institute" with her son, Tadao Yamaguchi in 1999.

Tado, who started Jikiden Reiki to give people across the world, as well as in their home country, access to Reiki as it was before it left Japan.

Tado is the President of Jikiden Reiki, and Arjava was asked to be the vice president, which is a great honour for a westerners. Arjava continues to travel the world teaching Jikiden Reiki, this Japanese form of Reiki in its pure form. 🙏

It is my absolute pleaseure to interview Arjava to allow others to get a deeper understanding of differents ways to connect with and express Reiki in all that we do.

Frank Arjava Petter was born in Duesseldorf, Germany. He is a spiritual teacher and historian and has contributed greatly to the history and practice of Reiki and has written 9 books, and also writes poetry and short stories. He lived in Japan for 12 years and is the vice president of the Jikiden Reiki Institute.

His books include: “Reiki Fire", "Reiki, the Legacy of Dr. Usui", "The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui", co-author of "The Spirit of Reiki", "Reiki Best Practices", "The Hayashi Reiki- Manual","Glücklichsein", "Reiki ganz Klar", "This is Reiki", "One with Reiki" "...is...", "Love Speaks", "Promise me Never to get Hurt" and "Still ...Here and Now". Arjava also writes poetry and short stories as well as Reiki books.

Arjava lived in Japan for 12 years and is the vice president of the Jikiden Reiki Institute.

He now lives in Greece with his family and continues to teach world wide, with a greater focus on finding your inner smile and connection to your true self. He will be in New Zealand in September but unfortunately we could not organise workshops in Australia. He does however hold workshops and seminars online from time to time.
