Transect Walk method for Participatory Action Research

Описание к видео Transect Walk method for Participatory Action Research

A transect walk is a 'walking interview' with a respondent through the area of research. This method is a valuable way to explore the area and to ask questions about what you see throughout your walk. As respondents are wellknown in their area and may pass things that they don't notice anymore but you do, this is an added value of the method as compared to a 'sitting' interview. In this video I explain how to conduct this method specifically for Participatory Action Research, but it can also be used in other qualitative research approaches. Maria, a local primary school teacher, shows me the area of a slum in Kampala where the school is located.
