High fashion and the holidays go hand in hand: we all want to see and be seen, so every get-together is a potential runway for bold outfits and festive colours. As Toronto Jazz legend Molly Johnson prepares for the Holiday Pops concerts and her TSO début, we join her in the changing room to discover how her famously audacious fashion sense inspires — and is inspired by — the holiday spirit that animates the song cycle she will be presenting on stage. This short film presents a conversation between Johnson and her long-term stylist: Toronto fashion legend and mind behind Yorkville’s Cabine, Nicholas Mellamphy. Join in for a very fashionable fireside chat as they discuss their nearly 20-year friendship, Mellamphy’s eye for dressing some of the most stylish women in the country, and how the holidays present a runway for their creative collaborations.
