When you desqueeze an anamorphic image, the oval bokeh remains because the compression applied to the image is proportional to the anamorphic factor. A 2X anamorphic lens effectively captures a 4X bokeh on the sensor, which, when desqueezed, results in a 2X oval shape due to differences in focal length and depth of focus. This effect is not caused by desqueezing software but rather by the physics of how anamorphic lenses manipulate light.
