Finegand Shunt Staring DSC 2325

Описание к видео Finegand Shunt Staring DSC 2325

The Finegand shunt runs twice a day, one shunt runs in the morning, and one runs in the evening. It shunts a rake of empty wagons dropped off in Balclutha by a southbound freight service, down to SilverFern Finegand (old Caitlins branch line) & returns with full wagons to be collected by the next northbound freight service. Here we see the Finegand shunt running after a rake of empty wagons was dropped off by 937D (Dunedin - Invercargill). Mainline locomotives are not allowed on the branchline due to its condition. The DSC shunter sits in Balclutha and is only used for the two Finegand shunts.
