The Oracle Red Bull-Honda team ran in perfect harmony with the Honda-created Suzuka Circuit in Japan to finish one-two for the third time this season - Max Verstappen crossing the line some 12.5 seconds ahead of Sergio Perez. Carlos Sainz finished an excellent third for Ferrari, ahead of team-mate Charles Leclerc, who drove equally well through a long first stint on Pirelli mediums; but the Mercedes customer and factory drivers had to be content with only the minor placings - in the order, Lando Norris (McLaren), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), George Russell (Mercedes factory), Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes factory). Nicely bookending the day for Honda, Yuki Tsunoda took the final point for VCashF1-Honda, thrilling the crowd with two passes on the outside at the top of the hill, on the marbles in the fast esses. In this video, Peter Windsor looks back at the key phases and elements of the race.
