How to naturally colour cold process soap: Using Woad dye to create a natural, 3 layer blue soap

Описание к видео How to naturally colour cold process soap: Using Woad dye to create a natural, 3 layer blue soap

Today we are using Woad dye to create a naturally coloured, 3 layer soap.

The Woad dye which we are using in today's video was kindly gifted to us by Suzanne Dekel of www.suzannedekel.com she runs a website selling a huge range of fair trade, organic, natural dyes, many of which can be used for soap making.

We wanted to create a 3 layer soap, which each layer being a slightly different colour. To do this, we infused different amounts of Woad into our lye water solutions. In this video we will explain how much Woad we use for each portion and how to create the different coloured layers.

The ingredients for this recipe are as follows:

218g Sodium Hhydroxide
436g Water
680g Olive Oil
198g Sweet Almond Oil
114g Castor Oil
368g Coconut Oil
150g Shea Butter
76g Cocoa Butter
12g Woad extract
