Point Vicente Park is a nice place to visit, but there is no easy beach access from the bluff. The Seascape Trail heads north from the park and follows the bluff’s edge all the way to Golden Cove. The best route down is a very steep trail just north of the Terrace Trail that descends to a huge bouldery slope. The only safe way to access the beaches below the park is by walking on the rocky shoreline from Pelican Cove Beach. This route would take some time and would be safest during a low tide. Only the most adventurous beachcombers should attempt either of these options.

This beautiful park, located adjacent to the Point Vicente Lighthouse, offers recreational and educational opportunities to the public. 
 The Interpretive Center opened in 1984 with a mission to present and interpret the unique features and history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The almost 10,000 square foot newly expanded Interpretive Center, re-opened on July 15, 2006, features exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the Peninsula, with a special emphasis on the Pacific gray whale. This premier whale watch site provides spectacular opportunities to view the annual migration of the Pacific gray whale, from December through April.
Lower Point Vicente is part of the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve. The park grounds may be enjoyed from dawn to dusk. Use of the park for recreation and picnics is available to the public on a first come, first served basis.
