What a delicious treat to catch up with 'Horn OK Please'. I last saw them 6 years ago (back in 2018) at the Alchemy Festival in the Southbank. Seeing these guys always feels like seeing a dear member of our family (Indian Street Food family that is).

"Horn OK Please" have taken their name from the ubiquitous Indian bumper sticker and sign written message which can be seen on trucks everywhere on the roads of India.

On the day of our visit we had their Dosa Chaat which consisted of the following:
Moong Dal Dosa
Filled with Spiced Masala Potatoes.
Served with:
CHANA CHAAT ON THE SIDE:
Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry)
Date & Tamarind Chutney
Sweet Yoghurt Sauce (optional)
Mint, Lime & Coriander Chutney
Sev (crunchy Gram Flour Noodles)
Red Onion, Green Coriander Leaves, Pomegranate seeds
Add chillis if you like it hot

Instead of traditional Sambar, they serve it here with Chana Chaat (making it much easier to eat in a street market environment).

There are many different types of dosas in South India, i.e. Rava Dosa (made with semolina), Kara dosa, Adai Dosa, Neer Dosa, Set Dosa and many more. Moong Dal Dosa (aka Pessarattu) is what "Horn OK Please" make & serve.

Other Menu Items:
SAMOSA CHAAT:
Punjabi Samosa (lightly crushed)
Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry)
Date & Tamarind Chutney
Sweet Yoghurt Sauce (optional)
Mint, Lime & Coriander Chutney
Sev (crunchy Gram Flour Noodles)
Red Onion, Green Coriander Leaves, Pomegranate seeds

BHEL RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
Mumra (Puffed Rice)

Freshly Chopped Coriander
Red Onion
Pomegranate Seeds

The Bhel is served freshly made so it retains it's crunchiness.

CHANA CHAAT RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

Date & Tamarind Chutney
Sweet Yoghurt Sauce (optional)
Mint, Lime & Coriander Chutney
Sev (crunchy Gram Flour Noodles)

You can go many times to India and love it every moment of your time spent there, (but you're always sad in the knowledge that India only exists in India and nowhere else) the sights you see, the sounds you hear, the people you meet (in India); all serve to feed you not just physically but also emotionally and spiritually.

Thank you to Gaurav, Kat, Rohan and all of the Horn Okay Please team who very much welcomed me and graciously allowed me a privileged glimpse into their kitchen to do the videoing even though they were extraordinarily busy.
