British comedy great, Eric Morecambe is named 'Pipe Smoker of the Year' for 1970. After beating off stiff competition from Lord Shinwell, he joins an illustrious list of winners, including the likes of Harold Wilson and Peter Cushing.

Nationwide's Bob Wellings was on hand to capture Eric's gag-packed acceptance speech.
