Scratch building walls with depth - N Scale walls scratch built from card

Описание к видео Scratch building walls with depth - N Scale walls scratch built from card

I am scratch building an N Scale low-relief Victorian hotel from card for my N Gauge city viaduct-based layout, Chandwell. I have started to build the ornately-decorated ballroom which involves walls that have a lot of character and depth.

In this episode I show how I built the four walls of the ballroom from three layers of half-millimetre card to give a solid and 3D-looking foundation on which to build further detail.

This is Part 10 in my series which has shown me working for over 117 hours on the character building for my model railway layout. I love scratch building and using card. The hotel is inspired by the Midland Hotel in Bradford.

This is the mid-August Chandwell Model Railway N Gauge Layout Update 2021 in which I show progress on my layout. The Royal Scot Hotel is being entirely scratch-built from card in N Scale but the techniques I use are just as relevant for any other scale and gauge such as OO gauge.
