How to Check Fuel Pressure: Motorvate's DIY Garage Ep.36

Описание к видео How to Check Fuel Pressure: Motorvate's DIY Garage Ep.36

On this episode of Motorvate's DIY garage, we are going to show you how to check the fuel pressure on any Nissan or Infiniti made since about 2003.

Around 2003 Nissan and Infiniti switched to a "return-less fuel system" and this change made it more difficult to check fuel pressure. Before then, you could simply put in a T-tap in the rubber fuel hose to see the pressure.

Now, to check the fuel pressure on these vehicles, you will need a "Fuel tap".
The old style "T tap" won't work, as the fuel line is now a hard plastic.

Thanks to CJ Motorsports (https://cj-motorsports.com), they sent us this "2 bolt fuel tap with 1/8 NPT port".

It connects between the fuel supply line/damper and the fuel injector rail
AND
provides a 1/8" NPT port to connect the a 100 psi pressure gauge or pressure sensor for an electronic gauge or data recorder.

Since the factory spec of the fuel pressure is 51 psi, the 100 psi gauge works well.

Please watch the video for a few hints and hips on see how easy this is to install.

NOTE: On a future episode, we will show you how to make your own electronic gauge using a cheap pressure sensor and a $3 Arduino Nano. How cool is that?

Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
