Barr's Tung Teaser - Fly Tying Video

Описание к видео Barr's Tung Teaser - Fly Tying Video

One of John Barr's classic patterns that's a little less known. It includes aspects of several popular flies: goose biot wings like a Prince Nymph, flash epoxy back of a Copper John (another popular Barr pattern), and the heavy tungsten bead that takes it to the depths. It would pass as a Green Drake nymph in larger sizes, but I use it as a more general purpose nymph. It works really well on our local VA trout.

You can tie it on a straight shank hook as well if you don't want the fly to be inverted. When tying on the jig hook, if you feel it necessary, you can tie the fly "upside-down" with the wing case on the bottom. This way when the fly is in the water it will theoretically be pointed towards the sky. I don't tie them this way as it take more finesse/time that I don't feel like is necessary.

We fish this pattern as a dropper on large dry flies or as part of a two-fly rig.

If you have any questions shoot them our way!
