The incident began when a 24-year-old allegedly caused a disturbance in a voting line, refusing to wait his turn and attempting to push past election judges. The situation escalated into an alleged assault when he reportedly punched an election judge in the face, knocking off their glasses, before being restrained by other patrons. Upon police arrival, the subject resisted arrest and subsequently refused to identify himself to officers, who informed him of his involvement in a criminal investigation. He was ultimately charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest, and was held overnight pending a detention hearing.
