Daisy Daisy, Daisy Bell, Bicycle Made For Two. Performed on a 24.5" Polyphon Mikado Model

An antique disc musical box, The Mikado by Polyphon of Leipzig, Germany. C.1900. Playing the well known song Daisy Bell Waltz. Also known as Bicycle Made For Two or Daisy, Daisy.

Disc musical boxes were the home entertainment of the day during the early 1900's and the forerunner to the MP3, CD and Record. Polyphon being one of the most prominent makers sold their coin-in-the-slot machines to pubs, cafe's and train stations. Providing entertainment to the paying public and enabling the wealthy to buy their very own Musical Box for the home.
