[GR] ΣΥΝΟΨΗ
Η ταινία είναι βασισμένη στην αληθινή θαυματουργική ιστορία, σύμφωνα με την οποία, ένας καλοκάγαθος βοσκός ζούσε με την γυναίκα του σε ένα απομακρυσμένο χωριό της Κεντρικής Ελλάδας. Ο βοσκός, το όνομα του οποίου είναι Μαυρογένης, δεν ήξερε τίποτα περί Θεού και Εκκλησίας, μέχρι που άκουσε το κήρυγμα του Παπά Φώτη, για τον ίσιο δρόμο που πρέπει να ακολουθούν οι πιστοί κα πως αν δεν λοξοδρομήσουν, θα βρουν τον Παράδεισο και θα συναντήσουν τον Θεό.
Ο καλός και απονήρευτος βοσκός ενθουσιάστηκε και εξέλαβε τοις μετρητοίς τα λόγια του Ιερέα, με αποτέλεσμα να γεμίσει ένα ταγάρι με εφόδια και να ξεκινήσει να περπατάει ίσια, χωρίς να στρίβει ούτε δεξιά, ούτε αριστερά, έχοντας την εντύπωση ότι έτσι, θα συναντούσε τον Θεό.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του ταξιδιού αυτού, θα συναντήσει αρκετά εμπόδια αλλά και θαυματουργικές εμφανίσεις. Όταν όμως του τελείωνουν όλα τα τρόφιμα, για καλή του τύχη, θα τον περιμαζέψουν κάποιοι Μοναχοί.
Ο Μαυρογένης, μέσα στο Μοναστήρι, θα λάβει την απάντηση που ζητούσε και οι καλόγεροι θα θαυμάσουν την πραότητά του. Ο Ηγούμενος εφοδιάζει με τρόφιμα τον Μαυρογένη για να συνεχίσει την αναζήτησή του.
Όμως μία μεγάλη έκπληξη περιμένει τόσο τον Μαυρογένη, όσο και τον Ηγούμενο της Μονής…

[EN] SYNOPSIS
The film is based on a true miraculous story, according to which, a virtuous shepherd once lived with his wife in a remote village in Central Greece. The shepherd, whose name is Mavrogenis, knew nothing about God and the Church until he heard the preaching of Father Fotis, about the straight path that the faithful must follow and that if they do not stray, they will find Paradise and meet God.
The good and unwavering shepherd was enthralled and took the priest's words for granted, resulting in him filling a sack with provisions and setting out on a journey, walking straight ahead without turning right or left, believing that this way, he would encounter God.
During this journey, he will encounter several obstacles but also miraculous apparitions. However, when he runs out of food, he will be fortunate enough to be taken in by some Monks.
Within the Monastery, Mavrogenis will receive the answer he sought, and the monks will admire his meekness. The Abbot will provides Mavrogenis with food to continue his quest.
Yet, a great surprise awaits both Mavrogenis and the Abbot of the Monastery...
