Historic Winemaking: Tradition Meets Renewal at the Villa Sandi Winery

In this On The Road Special Edition, Stevie Kim returns to Villa Sandi winery with Diva Moretti Polegato. On this occasion, Stevie explores the historic villa itself in the company of Gualtiero Giovanni Cenere, the winery's export manager.

Villa Sandi is located between the DOCG area of Prosecco of Valdobbiadene and the DOC area of the Montello and Colli Asolani wines in Treviso.

Today, Stevie takes a tour of the magnificent 17th century Palladian-style villa and ornate Italian gardens. She also discovers the cavernous underground tunnels below the villa where the winery's premier wines are aged, and learns about the vast collection of vintage motorbikes discovered there, before sampling one of the winery's flagship wines, Opere Extra Brut, made with local Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes using the Metodo Classico.

Villa Sandi is a truly spectacular winery located in the heart of the Prosecco winemaking territory of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
