Ripeness is a short concert-style overture that uses a [0267] tetrachord, a nearly ubiquitous soundset found in modern literature, including music for concert bands, orchestras, and marching bands. This piece is perfect for the developing percussion ensemble.

Instrumentation:
Percussion 1 (bells, xylophone)
Percussion 2 (bells, chimes, xylophone (can be shared with Percussion 1), suspended cymbal)
Percussion 3 (Vibraphone)
Percussion 4 (4-octave Marimba)
Percussion 5
Cymbals: sizzle cymbal, suspended cymbal (can use multiple ones throughout the work, at least one needs to be suitable for a drum-set-style crash), hi-hat, ride cymbal
Drums: bass drum (horizontally mounted kick drum), bongos, four medium-range toms, "rocked-out" snare drum
Other: 2 high-pitched woodblocks, cowbell (probably muted), wind chimes (mark tree or something else that randomly makes metallic sounds)
