Aster – Family Plot

Описание к видео Aster – Family Plot

TSU Extension Agent Joellen Dimond talks about asters. Asters have been the subject of a lot of scientific research, and as a result of DNA testing many plants traditionally thought of as asters have been reclassified. But, many plants that are not technically asters anymore are still called aster. Most asters found in garden centers are Symphyotrichum novi-belgii. There are many cultivars of these asters with many different color flowers. All asters bloom in the fall and most have very vibrant colors. Native asters are available from seed catalogs and you can find asters blooming in the fall in nature. Asters like full sun and well-drained soil. Joellen shows a cutting from a fragrant aster.
