The Saddle and Sgùrr na Sgìne

Jura and I climbed the Saddle avoiding the Forcan ridge, using the good bypass route which takes you to the bealach in between the Saddle and Sgurr na Sgine. The weather became progressively hot and finding water sources was a challenge. We both managed to reach the true summit of the Saddle after a scramble. I wouldn't recommend the Walk Highlands descent route over the subsidiary top, Faochag. It was unrelentingly steep with a few scrambles down rocks which proved difficult with Jura. A much bette option would be to take the bypass route from the bealach, avoiding the Forcan ridge and descending the ascent route to the Saddle. An enjoyable but exhausting day!
