CA के लिए ICAI क्यों जरुरी है | History of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India | ICAI Facts

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a professional body that regulates the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India. It was established in 1949 under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, enacted by the Parliament of India.

The roots of the ICAI can be traced back to 1919 when the Government of India constituted an expert committee on the subject of the Indian Income Tax. The committee recommended that the profession of accountancy should be regulated by a statutory body. Following this recommendation, the Indian Accountancy Board was established in 1920.The ICAI has played a significant role in the development of the accounting profession in India. It has been instrumental in formulating accounting standards and regulations, conducting professional development programs, and providing certification to aspiring Chartered Accountants.
