(27 Jun 2016) US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in London on Monday for a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, in the wake of the UK vote to leave the European Union.
At the press conference Hammond broached the topic of negotiations on maintaining the EU as close trading partners.
Hammond said that the UK's large trade deficit with EU member states should make negotiating trade access a top priority for the remaining 27 member states who currently enjoy a surplus.
Kerry said that while he personally regrets the lack of Britain at the EU-table he believed that cooperation between Brtain and the United States would continue unhindered.
