Youth Day is celebrated in Antique during the Binirayan Festival every December.

The Antique Amazing Youth Sibalom Chapter placed 1st Runner Up During the Street Dancing Competition in which every municipality will showcase their own festival. Buruyloganay Festival is the festival of Sibalom.

BURUYLOGANAY FESTIVAL

A Filipino cultural heritage that may never cease to exist for generations is the holding of the Annual Town Fiesta, a tradition influenced through the spread of Christianity in the country originated by the Catholic hierarchy, usually idolizing a certain saint as a patron.

The municipality of Sibalom is known as Antique’s Gemstone capital because of its riverbeds that are rich in boulders of semi-precious gemstones found in the area. The very own festival of Sibalom, Antique is known as Buruyloganay. The word “buruyloganay” is from the word “buylog” of the Kinaray-a dialect which means to unite. Hence, Buruyloganay is a celebration of unity and camaraderie of Sibalomnons to enjoy their fruits of labor, and to promote the cultural as well as the natural wonders of Sibalom. This gathering is not only for the residents of Sibalom, but anyone who wishes to come together and rejoice are very much welcome. The Buruyloganay festival of Sibalom is an annual celebration held every December wherein it showcases the culture of Sibalomnons through a display of talents by the youth, its natural bounty, and the achievements of its people.

One highlight event of Buruyloganay is the Parada Sibalomnon, wherein “tribes” from several barangays compete in a choreographed street dance. Held in the town plaza, participants dance to Original Kinaray-a music that tells different stories of Sibalom. Parada Sibalomnon presents dance performances inspired by culture, history, and nature such as the tallest mountain in Sibalom, Mt. Porras, wherein the rare bird “turarik” can be found; and of course, the largest flower in Antique, the rafflesia is always present in their designs.

Each tribe’s costumes are colorful and unique, specifically designed to show the beauty of Sibalom – with props portraying attractions, flowers, birds, and backdrops depicting breathtaking sceneries, which only show how creative the minds of Sibalomnons are.

Buruyloganay festival attracts the attention of not only locals from other towns, but from other provinces, and even foreign tourists as well, which makes the festival livelier since thousands of participants and guests come together. In celebrating Buruyloganay, it symbolizes oneness, something that is very essential and vital in the town of Sibalom.
