This video highlights Shorefront’s Intergenerational Interview Project, an inspiring 8-week program in Evanston, Illinois. Supported by the Field Foundation’s Media and Storytelling grant, the project brought together local students and recipients of Evanston’s historic reparations initiative to share, document, and preserve their stories.

At its heart, this program fostered meaningful relationships across generations. Participants learned interviewing techniques and oral history practices while connecting through shared experiences and histories. Together, they contributed to the preservation of Evanston’s Black legacy and explored the ongoing impact of reparative justice efforts.
