Today there is upgrading work being carried out inside the Chimp House.
Maintenance staff are repairing and painting the climbing area in the building
and obviously the chimps are not allowed in, this has caused them to be extra
rowdy today and they are very active.
There are always a few minor disputes within the Chimpanzee troop
on Chester Zoo's Chimp Island a lot of which involves the older members
of the group trying to keep the younger ones in line.
Disputes often arise when the high ranking males are exerting their
dominance but the girls often stir things up as well.
